It is “Let me die as Regina”, right? I’ve been watching the sneak peek for a while, and it really sounds like that. I watched Lana’s lips, and she definitely makes the ‘l’ sound.

I hear “I may die as Regina” but I feel that “Let me die as Regina” is more fluent…

I think she’s saying “Let me die as Regina,” aka “Let me die as that young, innocent girl who saved Snow,” aka “Let me die as that person you always saw/believed/wanted me to be, Emma”.

On Swan Queen and Once finales

Isn’t it interesting that for two seasons in a row, Emma and Regina have had intense personal scenes that have changed the game (S1: bringing magic, S2: escaping Storybrooke’s impending destruction), and have had to work together to save someone?

Last season it was Henry, this season it will be Storybrooke.

And it’s not just gamechangers for the town, it’s gamechangers for them too. The events of S1 have led to Emma saving Regina countless times in S2, Regina pulling the plug on the magic at the well, and Emma fighting for Regina’s innocence during the whole Archie situation.

Oh, and that in the lead-up to the finale, the following things happened:

a) a member of the family was put in harm’s way (S1: Henry, S2: Regina)

b) a key magical item was with Maleficent (S1: bottled magic, S2: the failsafe diamond)

c) Gold is involved in helping the ailing family member (S1: Giving Emma the sword and disclosing the location of the bottled magic; S2: Giving Regina’s tears and casting the connection spell with Snow)

d) Emma and Regina fight for custody, with Emma having the intention to take him away (S1: Emma tries to take Henry away from Storybrooke via car, S2: Emma and the Chamrings try to take Henry away via magic bean)

e) A love interest of Emma has been incapacitated (S1: August, S2: Neal)

f) A crisis will present itself, with magic being the only solution. (S1: Henry, S2: Storybrooke)

I have a feeling that in this story, they cannot not work together. It’s a yin-yang thing, and even if they never get together as a couple, they will always be connected, not just through Henry, but through the roles they’ll have to play in this unfolding story. The loss of one or the other will mean chaos and a great imbalance.

Once has laid the foundation for a gripping, interesting, and wonderful love story, even if they don’t seem to see it. I hope they do see the light, because this has too much potential, too much logic for it not to be the endgame.

Update: Corrected the item in c), I don’t know why I typed Henry instead of Emma, but there you go! :)
